Douglas County Arrest History
An arrest in Douglas County starts parallel records. The arresting agency writes the incident or probable-cause report. A contracted jail records intake and custody. Fingerprints and arrest data may reach the Washington State Patrol's Washington State Identification System. If the prosecutor files charges, the court begins a separate case. These records can disagree for a time because each captures a different point in the process.
The Douglas County Sheriff covers unincorporated areas and contract-policing locations. East Wenatchee Police keeps records for city arrests. Washington State Patrol holds reports from highway stops and state investigations. No separate official police-record route was verified for Bridgeport or Rock Island, so the Sheriff is the normal starting point unless another agency made the arrest. Confirm the agency instead of sending one broad request to “the county.”
Finding Douglas Arrests Without a Roster
Douglas County owns and operates no jail. County planning records document contracted custody and transport arrangements, including historic use of Okanogan County Jail and temporary detention in Chelan County. A June 2026 agenda considered a new Chelan County Regional Justice Center agreement, so old routing cannot be treated as permanent. No verified official Douglas County jail roster exists.
Call the arresting agency first and ask for the current receiving facility plus the booking identifier. Then use that facility's official phone or custody channel. A no-match at one jail may mean the person was taken elsewhere, transferred, released, booked under a slightly different name, or not yet entered. Do not use similarly named Douglas County rosters from another state or an unofficial people-search service.
Looking Up Douglas County Arrests
The most useful search sequence follows the record as it forms. Keep the person's full name, approximate arrest time, exact place, arresting agency, and any incident or booking number. A recent arrest may not yet have a filed court case, and WATCH is not a live booking feed.
- Identify the arresting agency from the location and event. Check official press releases only for leads, since silence there proves nothing.
- Call that agency and ask which contracted jail received the person. Use the receiving facility's official custody channel.
- Search Washington Courts after the prosecutor has had time to file, then request the case file from the court shown.
- Request the incident or arrest report from the Sheriff, East Wenatchee Police, or WSP. Include the incident number, date range, location, and involved party.
- Use WATCH for statewide public criminal history. A qualifying pending arrest less than one year old may appear, but WATCH excludes much nonconviction data.
- For a person transferred after a state sentence, use Washington DOC Incarcerated Search and WA VINE for eligible custody notices.

Douglas Sheriff Report Form 734
The Sheriff's Request for Disclosure of Public Records is the main fallback for Sheriff arrest reports, incident records, dispatch material, photographs, and booking-related records held by that agency. Submit it by mail, fax, personal delivery, or email to recordstech@co.douglas.wa.us. The form asks whether the requester wants to inspect or receive copies and requests a clear description, dates, and case or incident numbers.
Washington's Public Records Act requires an initial response within five business days. That response may provide the records, deny with a cited exemption, ask for clarification, or give a reasonable production estimate. Five days is not a promise that every file will be produced by then. The reviewed form did not publish a full fee schedule, so ask for an estimate and state whether inspection, an electronic file, or paper copies are preferred.

Inside a Douglas County Arrest Record
The agency report and booking entry contain related but different fields. An agency record may show the incident number, time and place, officer, alleged offenses, warrant or probable-cause basis, narrative, evidence, witnesses, and referrals. A custody record focuses on intake, holds, release, and transfer. Public copies may redact full birth dates, victim or witness information, medical data, juvenile information, and active-investigation details.

Use the incident number to request the narrative and the case number to obtain the prosecutor's charges and judgment. One number does not replace the other.
East Wenatchee Arrest Record Route
East Wenatchee Police Records Specialists handle city incident and arrest reports at 50 Simon Street, East Wenatchee, phone 509-884-9515. The city prefers its GovQA Public Records Center but also accepts written requests in person, by regular mail, fax, or email at publicrecords@eastwenatcheewa.gov. A useful request includes the requester name, date, contact method, and a focused description with the date range, location, incident number, and involved agency or party.
City police records do not replace the custody record held by the contracted jail or the case file held by the court. Ask Police where the person was taken. If charges are filed in East Wenatchee Municipal Court, that court keeps the official city case. A felony filing moves to Superior Court in Waterville. Booking Logs and Recent Arrests
The Douglas County Sheriff publishes press releases with selected numbered cases and incident summaries. March 2026 releases described several Bridgeport-area investigations with separate case numbers. Those numbers can sharpen a records request. The releases are not a full blotter, booking log, or list of everyone in custody. The official Sheriff homepage is the proper place to read those notices.

Use that office to identify the receiving facility or to route a Sheriff-held report request when no public log answers the question.
Douglas Arrests Create Two Trails
Booking commonly includes property inventory, identity checks, fingerprints, a photograph, warrant and charge review, medical and safety screening, classification, and judicial release review. Fingerprints may create an arrest cycle in WSP's central repository. The prosecutor then decides whether and what to file. A court case exists only after filing.

WATCH may disclose a pending Washington arrest less than one year old when its disposition remains pending. It is still not a live Douglas County booking list. A “no record” or “no exact match” result can reflect excluded nonconviction data, reporting lag, sealed or vacated matters, identity mismatch, another state, or a federal case.
Douglas Custody After State Transfer
A local jail search stops being useful after a person enters Washington DOC custody. The DOC Incarcerated Search accepts a last name, optional first name, or DOC number. Results can show the DOC number, displayed name, age, current facility, and a notification-registration link. It does not provide the arrest narrative, full court docket, or every prior booking.

Douglas Community Custody Routing
Douglas County has no DOC field office. The DOC field-office directory routes residents to Chelan or Grant County offices, including the Wenatchee office across the Columbia River.
That regional supervision route is separate from the Sheriff, the contracted jail, and Douglas County District Court Probation.
Arrests Are Not Convictions
An arrest records that law enforcement took someone into custody or initiated an arrest process. It does not prove guilt. The prosecutor may decline a referral or alter the allegations. Filed charges can be dismissed, resolved by plea, or tried. The court's disposition and judgment answer what happened to each count.

Note: An arrest is not proof of guilt, and a booking may lead to no charge, dismissal, acquittal, or an amended case.
A dismissal also does not automatically erase the separate agency or repository trail. For an error in one's own WSP record, use subject review and correction. A qualifying conviction requires the proper Washington vacation process in the sentencing court.
